It allows users to extract specific data (Study, Investigator site, patient data…) from the central database to a Sybase SQL Anywhere database in the portable module. Once the data has been entered on site, it updates the central database via modem or network synchronization using the data transfer module developed by Oriam.

Records that have been downloaded to the portable module are locked in the central database until resynchronization occurs to ensure data integrity. To streamline training and enhance ease of use, the graphic interface of the portable module is identical to that of the central database regarding style of entry and navigation.
